IFG Companies Announces New Chief Information Officer, Raymond J. Karrenbauer

BURLINGTON, NC - IFG Companies has announced that Raymond J. Karrenbauer has joined as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. As a member of IFG's Executive Leadership Team, Raymond will be responsible for advancing IFG's information technology capabilities and re-engineering IFG's existing business processes for more efficiency and customer benefit. In that role, Raymond will oversee IFG's systems architecture, application development, technology procurement, information management systems, and disaster recovery / information risk management, among other responsibilities.

Prior to joining IFG Companies, Raymond was the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Axis Capital for six years. Before that, Raymond held senior positions in the Information Technology areas of ING for seven years, where most recently he was the Group Chief Architect for the Office of Operations and Information Systems.
Raymond holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and minor in Nuclear Physics from the University of Florida, a Master of Science degree in Radiological Engineering from Harvard University, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Computational Finance from Cornell University. Raymond also has ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification, Carnegie-Mellon Software Engineering Institute-Certified Software Architecture Professional (CSAP), and has received numerous honors, including the Order of the Engineer (Distinguished), being named Computerworld's "Top 100 Award" (2006), InfoWorld's "25 Most Influential CTOs" (2004) and DM Review's "World Class Solution Award."
